Application Integration & Interfaces
Enterprise application integration (EAI) is the process of linking together a variety of applications from disparate systems within a single organization, thus enabling the unrestricted sharing of data and business processes across an enterprise. Whether your organization uses a commercial interface engine, proprietary vendor interface, or custom-developed HL7 interface, we can provide the integration professionals to make your applications exchange data smoothly.
HIS Data Extracts & Reporting
The data stored in your hospital information systems (HIS) is critical, but it isn't always easy to retrieve, manipulate, or analyze. Due to the complexity of some vendor systems, it takes an expert to know how to locate, extract, and report on the data. Some systems require specific expertise with proprietary report writers, while others make use of industry-standard query languages. Whatever the tool, we know the right people to produce the right data in the right format.
Systems Personnel understands the challenges faced by healthcare providers to sustain revenue cycle excellence in today’s dynamic market of consumer-directed health care, DRG rebasing, newly resurgent silent PPO discounts, claims underpayments, and inappropriate and unwarranted denials. We also understand that inappropriately denied claims and underpayments may account for revenue losses ranging from 8% to 14% of managed care revenue. Healthcare providers are strongly motivated to ensure that they recover the full contracted rates negotiated in every payer contract. Systems Personnel has partnered with Managed Care Insights (MCI) to successfully address this challenge for our clients every day. MCI brings a 21-year history of helping hospitals identify and recover revenue from unpaid and underpaid claims, which would otherwise be lost forever. We now offer the following services to our clients:
Level I - Pilot Study
Conduct a one-year retrospective review of two commercial payers of your choice to identify and quantify the revenue shortfall between the payment received and the full contracted revenue. Deliver a comprehensive report detailing underpayment amounts and the associated reason codes by payer and patient account number, allowing your business office staff to reopen or appeal denied claims. Alternatively, you may outsource our findings to a third party recovery firm on a contingency basis.
Level II - Monthly Review
Conduct a concurrent review which would include all elements of the retrospective review described above, plus a monthly review of paid accounts. Deliver a monthly report detailing underpayment amounts and the associated reason codes by payer and patient account number.
Level III - License Agreement
License agreement to install a functioning managed care engine to complete an underpayment identification and recovery project at your own location. MCI's proprietary managed care engine embodies an investment of more than $3 million and years of highly valuable input from patient accounts managers, claims review and medical billing experts, legal experts, and healthcare information systems specialists.
Level IV - Software Purchase
Full purchase of MCI's managed care engine where MCI would deliver the source code and necessary training. You would then have complete autonomy in implementation and administration of the software to use in any way you deem appropriate.
